It was May of 2020 and my girls (my oldest daughter and her girlfriend (now Fiancé)) were trying to find ways to stay busy during Covid. One way they found was to have a wine and paint night! None of us really knew what we were doing but that was okay, we were having fun and enjoying ourselves. We would get ideas from Pinterest and pick a picture and then try to pain it. The girls had been messing around with paints more than I had at the time.
I picked my first picture and I wanted to do a moon with a willow tree. Below you will see my first painting ever!! Crazy to see that and to what I can do now.
This is my second painting.
I found I enjoyed blending colors together. I loved watching the colors blend to see the next color it would create.
We ended up having several little paint night together.
Each time we got a little more adventurous with our choices.
As time went on through out the year and into 2021 we would continue our paint nights, sometimes with my mom at her house in Eager AZ. It was so much fun for all of us to get together and paint together, all the laughing and smiling and conversations were the best!
It is now January 12, 2023 and I'm still painting! I have found a passion of creativity that I can not stop doing and enjoy doing as much as I can. I discovered my talent during my seven and a half month long of unemployment in 2022. I threw myself into it and taught myself from videos' and doing.
Now I have a little side hustle called Turquoisebrush. I have a page on Facebook and an Etsy shop as well. I've sold several paintings.
I did my first craft fair back in November. I also have a little collection of paintings displayed where I work along with a fellow artist friend that I work with as well. Its fun, its a little mini gallery!
I've come along way from my very first painting. I will share more in time with this blog.
