This painting was fun to do.  I wanted to do something bright and cheerful.  I painted this when there was so on the ground outside my window.  We have had so much snow for weeks now and it's been so cold.  the snow will not be going anywhere anytime soon.  I couldn't help but take a little time out in my world of painting but to dream a little bit about a warm bright Spring day.  I have a tendency to do pine trees in my landscapes but this time I did what I would consider a normal tree ha ha ha.  I can't but help when I look at this painting to feel all happy and cheerful and ready for a new day!

Loose Watercolor

 Loose watercolor is when you don't paint exactly what you see and intentionally leave out details.  Loose painting is also known as painterly.  It is a style that is more expressive and about feeling than detail.  I've started to play around with this style and I think I really like it.  Watercolor is hard to control and loose watercolor is out of control sort of, I can wrap my head around it little bit easier than to try to be so controlled and precise with watercolor. I'm loving how easy and pretty these flower came out!   I learned three different type of roses to do.  I like the 1st one and 2nd one the best. I blurred the background and then added the tree.  I like the background, I still need to work on the tree some but I think the idea is cool! watercolor and gouache

A fun afternoon

 Last week at work we had been dealing with the snow and getting to and from work, as if that wasn't enough we had a morning of no internet on Wed.  Now a days everything ties into having interest even our phone system at work so if there is an issue then nothing works.  We were all sent home that morning.  Instead of going home, I went over to my co-worker's house, which over the months she has become a really good friend, actually my best friend!  Anyways we had such a fun afternoon together!  She ordered pizza and we had a really strange movie on in the background and then we painted with watercolors. Here is my hummingbird, not too bad, just don't look at the other bird lol Kim and I Kim in action Here is my finished watercolor of flowers.  I like it! I ended up calling it Springtime Confetti. A nice little set up :) It is always a ton of fun being around my bestie!
